Biology and cells

Free bobbin lace embedded in handmade silk paper is used to depict the cell nucleus or the developing fetus with the thread of life passing from one generation to another. In Frayed nerves the skin has been stripped away to reveal the frayed nerves made of rough needle lace beneath, showing how easily the smooth surface of our live can be torn away causing pain and irritation. The stomach wall panel depicts the histology of the internal organs and To sleep perchance to dream depicts the sleep cycle.
